Our plum puddings are made from top quality raisins, glacé cherries, and dates mixed in a batter flavored with minced orange & lemon peel, a blend of fine spices and apple juice to make up a 50% fruit content. The pudding and the sauce (included) should be reheated prior to being served. (4-6 servings)
Product is fully cooked, and it is typically be served warm.
Re-heating instructions -- Updated (2020-12-17):
1) Microwave method -- 8 minutes (total):
> Leave the clear cellophane wrap on the pudding. Place in the microwave for approximately 5-6 minutes on medium setting to reheat.
> For the sauce, reheat remove lid and reheat for approximately 2 minutes on medium setting.
2) On the stove (indirect heat method) -- 2.5 hours:
> Leave the clear cellophane wrap on the pudding. Fill a medium sauce pot to between 1/3 to 1/2 full. Place wrapped pudding in the pot above the water level and cover (bain-marie style) Let it steam for up to 2.5 hours to reheat all the way through. Verify water level in pot periodically; do not let it go dry.
> About the time the pudding is ready, reheat the sauce in a small pot on low heat -- do not boil.
Serving suggestion: Portion reheated pudding using a damp sharp knife, plate and top with the warm sauce. Serve immediately. Refrigerate unused portions promptly.
